Services through JULY
A little bit of variety
does us no harm!
Over the summer weeks a
number of different men will be leading our worship and bringing God's
Word to us all.
Do remember them in your
prayers in all their preparation and as they minister among us.
Sunday 4th July
Alistair Donald
Alistair
Donald is presently
chaplain out at Heriot
Watt University, and exercising a significant ministry in a hard but
crucial context.
He and his wife, Nicky,
are members with us here and we've come to value their presence and
ministry among us as they've shared in our life.
Sunday 11th July
Calum Stark
Calum
Stark is nearing the end of his training as a candidate for the Church
of Scotland ministry.
He and his wife, Liz, with
their two boys, have been involved in our congregation for a number of
years.
Calum has proved himself
to be a very able communicator, with a clear grasp of the Scriptures and
a real heart for the gospel.
Sundays 18th and 25th July
Martin Pearce
Martin
Pearce hardly needs any sort of introduction to us here!
He and his wife Debbie
have been members with us for 20 years or so, and for many years now
Martin has served as a 'Reader' in the Church of Scotland.
He brings a wealth of
experience from different walks of life to preaching, and combines that
rich experience with a boundless enthusiasm.

Make yourself at home
There are two services
of worship every Sunday of the year.
The songs and hymns
are all projected onto the front wall and comprise a balanced diet of
traditional and more contemporary songs - which probably means there are
some that you'll quite like and others that .. well, others!
But, hey, see it as a challenge and learn to enjoy them anyway!
After
each service there's the chance to chat, chill or just chew on the cud
in the nearby hall - with refreshments available
10.30am
If you want a good seat come early - it's
usually pretty full! (Actually you're best to come late
because the comfiest seats with most leg room are down at the front and
in good Scottish style they're generally the last seats to be taken!)
Everyone is catered for! There's a
crèche available for the under 3's, and the needs of children and young
people, too, are met.
Most Sundays we break after maybe 20/25
minutes or so of the service, with the children and young people
dispersing to different parts of the complex as we all try and get our
heads round the exciting, challenging and sometimes rather scary truths
the Bible sets before us in a way appropriate to our age and stage.
But some Sundays adults and children stick
under the one roof and share the whole thing together.
6.30pm
This service takes a varied form and often
allows pressing issues to be addressed at greater depth. As one of
the regular worshippers said recently -
"...you never know
just quite what to expect!"
Celebrating Communion
The dates for the remainder of 2010 are:
5 September 10.30am and 3pm
31 October 10.30am and 3pm
28 November 10.30am
At evening services communion will be
celebrated informally every few weeks.
You can receive tapes of the services -
if you'd like to pick up on that option just
contact the Office.
And you're now able to hear the services
on line! Click here
